In San Francisco, you have four accommodation options. We will help choose the right one for you: homestay, residence clubs, furnished apartments, or hotels. Our housing department will help make all your arrangement and ensure our satisfaction.

Because we believe that language learning takes place not only in classrooms, but also outside the classroom in the culture of the learners, we think creating a strong social ambience is of great importance. International House schools are centers of learning both inside and outside the classroom.

In addition, we know you will want to enjoy the vast range of cultural, sporting, and social activities offered in the San Francisco Bay area. We run a great social program and our staff get you involved from your very first day.

A Stimulating Environment
San Francisco is one of America's most famous cities. Cable cars, the golden Gate Bridge, fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown and Union Square are just a few of the exciting places to see when you are in our wonderful city.

Central Location
IH San Francisco is located on two floors of a six-story building, in the historic Union Square district on the Powell Street cable car line. From the school you can hear their distinctive clang. The immediate area is full of shops, bars, theatres, and restaurants. All parts of the city are easily accessible by public transport from the school.

Study Programs
On arrival you will be welcomed and given a short test to help evaluate your current level of spoken and written English. You will then start your program in our well-equipped and comfortable school. We will check your progress regularly and when you complete your course, you may request a detailed evaluation.

Exam Programs
IH schools throughout the world are highly regarded for their superb Cambridge exam programs. IH-USA schools offer the full range of Cambridge exam courses: PET, FCE, CAE, and CPE. The centers also prepare students for other important exams including: IELTS, TOEIC, TEOFL, CEIBT, and teacher training as well—CELTA and DELTA. If you are planning to sit the GED, SAT, GMAT or the GRE, we can arrange specialized tutoring in addition to your General English course.
