These courses are designed for people
aged 16 or older who wish to improve their English language
skills for work, school, or social reasons. All students
take a placement test on arrival, so you can be sure of
being in a group appropriate to your English skills.
General English 15 & 20 (Part-time)
Eight levels from beginning through advanced, designed for
people 16 or older. Fifteen lessons of integrated skills
(listening. speaking. reading and writing) or add 5 lessons
of a focus course (for example: Slang & Idioms, Discussion
& Debate, Current Events, Role Play). No F-1 visa required.
General English 25 (Full-time)
Same program as above with the addition of a second focus
course. F-1 visa required.
Your teachers offer the most effective teaching methods
in the profession. For three hours per day (Sessions 1 and
2) you will have a balance of Listening, Speaking, Reading,
and Writing to improve all your English skills, plus grammar,
vocabulary, and pronunciation.
You may then choose to take either one or two Focus courses
which will further your study of English in a variety of
challenging and interesting areas. These courses may include:
Slang & Idioms, Grammar, Business English, Pronunciation,
Exam preparation, Vocabulary building, American life and
culture, Communication skills, etc.
At the end of your course you will earn either a Certificate
of Completion if you complete a level, or a Certificate
of Attendance if you stay fewer than 4 weeks. It normally
takes 8 weeks to complete a level.
Options: Students may take 15, 20, or 25
lessons per week. F-1 visas are required for 25 lessons/week
only.
