IH staff is available to give you the information and advice you need on all aspects of adjusting to life in the USA, including how to:

  • Find your way around the city
  • Find the shops you want to go to
  • Find important offices
  • Get medical and dental assistance
  • Apply for college/university courses

IH Handbooks

ORIENTATION
On your first day at IH you will receive an Orientation Handbook with easy-to-find information to help you feel comfortable from your first day in the US. You will learn all about:

  • The school
  • Living with a host family
  • Finding your way around the city
  • Banking, shopping, and transportation
  • Places to eat and to have fun

AIRPORT TRANSFER
For those students choosing our Airport Transfer Service, we will meet you at the airport, take you to your homestay and introduce you to your host family. Or, you may choose to take a shuttle service from the airport to your host family, which usually costs less than 50% of the IH service.
